The
Meaning of Our Name:
Our name comes from the symbol of the Vesica Pisces, the almond
shaped geometry created by two perfectly overlapping
circles. The Vesica is a symbol of the spiritual portal that emerges
from the harmonious balance of two complementary polarities; intuition
and intellect, knowledge and practice, yin
and yang, heaven and earth, spirit and
science.
In terms
of our personal research and work in Spiritual Studies, we must strike
a balance that is open minded yet also intellectually and emotionally
mature with discernment in spiritual and scientific fields. An open
mind joined with real discernment creates the overlapping of two circles
as in the Vesica symbol; their union provides the vesica portal through
which deeper understanding manifests. As taught in the ancient mysteries,
we must all become "as gentle as doves and as wise as serpents".
There are many pitfalls and traps in every field of research and work,
and through clarity and a sufficiently wide context of understanding
they can be overcome or avoided. Esoteric discernment and contextual
knowledge are essential in independent research activity.
